Glacial Lake Missoula: The Photographic Recreation Of A 2000 FT Ice Dam
I recently completed this shot, and another, for a calendar titled “Glacial Lake Missoula – Sanders County by Air”, with aerial photos by Dave Bennett. This image was painted to show what Glacial Lake Missoula might have looked liked, and the massive 2000 ft ice dam that held back the waters.

I happened to be at this particular mountain lake 4 years ago. There was still a thick layer of ice on the water August 2nd! Amazing.

Plein Air Painting On Horseback: Bob Marshall Wilderness
Just returned from a horseback trip into the Bob Marshall Wilderness. The great part was that I was able to attach my painting gear onto the back of some unsuspecting mule. Another bonus was that I got to eat much better than I do on most of my backpacking trips. Here are my paintings from the trip, as well as a few photos.
