Well, this is different.
I had the pleasure of studying under Andrew Baker lately through his program at the Phoenix Atelier. Andrew is lead creature designer at WETA Workshop Design Studio, and he played a large part in the designs of most of the creatures in the new Hobbit films. My goal was to learn ZBrush and incorporate it into my existing workflow. Andrew went above and beyond delivering a solid curriculum with the help of the Phoenix Atelier. I couldn’t be more pleased. Here are some of the results……..
Here are a few quick winter gouache sketches. I’ve been inspired by a Russian artist lately by the name Stepan Kolesnikoff. The first one is loosely based off one of his works. The others are just out of my head.
